A group of techies formed ‘Team Shanker Nag’ trust and giving away awards in November this year. For this September 30, it is 26 years of Shanker Nag departure from this world in a road accident. The team of software guys stated a film ‘Kourya’ in 2014 in memory of Shanker Nag. The film is almost complete and ready for release.

The Memorial Trust has come forward to give awards for best short film, music album and achievers in the field of cinema.

The team of successful directors Sumana Kiththur, Naresh Kumar, Hemanth Rao, Rishab Shetty and Venkat Bharadwaj are in the panel for selection. The languages in Karnataka – Kannada, Konkani, Kodava, Tulu, Lambani films are eligible for contest. Last day for applying to the awards is October 1. On November 11, birth anniversary of Shanker Nag awards will be given away.

The model of trophy for awards was released by KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu. Shanker Nag is always remembered by this Kannada cinema industry as he brought works to technicians setting up Sankesh Studio.
